...for you will not find it here
Still I Breathe

Center stage - I stand alone

The spotlight shines on me

Center stage - all alone

Despite the light no one sees

And I wait for my cue

So that I can speak

Gone - but not yet gone

Still I Breathe.

Stage left - people watch

And wait for me to fall

Stage right - those who've gone

Remember me not at all

But I'd give all I have

For a chance to speak

Gone - but not yet gone

Still I Breathe.

Like the hero in a book that's never read

All my thoughts and hopes remain unsaid

Written on the pages in my head

Not spoken doesn't mean not there at all.

Curtain falls - I take my bows

Face the front with a smile

Hang my head to hide the pain

I stand alone in the dark again

A single light shines within the dark

That is me

Gone but not yet gone

Still I Breathe.

Like the villain in a play dressed in black

A turn of cloak the shadows all fall back

Then again the time's not right

The trapdoor opens - I fall from out of sight.

Empty stage - the lights are gone

The show is done and I

Hold my head in my hands

And wish this stage was life

'Cos I'd shine in that dream

But it's not to be

Gone but not yet gone

Still I Breathe.
